"A Night of Silence" began life as a choral work entitled "Silence Steals the Night" with Flugelhorn solo. It was Don Kessler's suggestion to create a Brass Choir arrangement of the piece so that he might be able to use it with one of his performing ensembles. It seemed to be a good idea, so with few changes, mostly to gived the brass different articulations from the chorus, this is the result.
