Based on an early work from 1974 "Day and Night Cannot Dwell Together" (published by Seesaw Music). The text is mainly parts of a speech Seathl (Seattle), a Dwamish Chief, made to Issac Stevens in 1854, with additional material from Kintpuash (Captian Jack) and Parra-wa-samen (Ten Bears). Incorporates off-stage Indian songs by SATB soli (from the chorus).
